이화글로벌사회공헌원, 지구건강 증진과 지속가능한 발전을 위한 협력 관계 구축 N

이화글로벌사회공헌원은 1월 14일(수) 이화글로벌사회공헌원에서 연세대학교 지구건강연구소와 국제개발협력 및 지구건강 증진, 지속가능한 발전을 위한 상호협력 업무협약(MOU)을 체결하였다.
이번 협약을 통해 양 기관은 ▲국제개발협력 및 지구건강 분야의 성공적인 사업 경험과 정보 공유 ▲국제개발협력 및 지구건강 관련 공동 사업 발굴 및 수행 ▲교육·연수·워크숍·세미나 등 역량 강화 프로그램의 공동 기획 및 운영 ▲네트워크 및 자원 공유를 통한 글로벌 협력 확대 ▲기타 상호 합의된 사항에 대한 협력을 추진하기로 하였다. 이를 바탕으로 양 기관은 국제개발협력과 지구건강 분야의 연구, 정책, 실천 활동을 연계하여 글로벌 보건 및 환경 문제 해결을 위한 다양한 사업을 전개할 계획이다.
이화글로벌사회공헌원은 이번 협약을 계기로 상호 협력 기반을 강화하고, 양 기관의 전문성을 결합한 글로벌 보건 및 환경 문제 해결 사업을 체계적으로 추진할 방침이다. 이를 통해 지속가능발전목표(SDGs)에 기반한 다양한 사업과 프로그램을 확대하고, 지구건강 분야 협력 생태계를 구축하여 실질적인 시너지를 창출하고자 한다. 아울러 2026년 이화여자대학교 개교 140주년 및 이화글로벌사회공헌원 창립 1주년을 기념하여 개최 예정인 「2026 지구건강포럼」을 통해 전 지구적 지구건강 행동을 촉구하는 장을 마련할 예정이다.
하은희 이화글로벌사회공헌원 원장은 “이화글로벌사회공헌원의 축적된 지구건강 연구 역량과 국제개발협력 현장에서 축적된 실천 경험, 정책 연계 역량을 바탕으로, 연세대학교 지구건강연구소와 함께 전 세계적 건강 불평등 문제에 대응하기 위한 과학적 근거 기반의 해결책을 연구하고자 한다”며, “특히 실질적인 솔루션을 개발하고 이를 현장에서 검증하는 협력 모델을 통해, 현시대가 직면한 지구건강 담론을 공동으로 해결해 나갈 계획”이라고 밝혔다.

The Ewha Global Institute for Sustainable Partnership and Empowerment(EGISE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Yonsei University Institute for Planetary Health on Wednesday, January 14, at the ECC.
The agreement aims to promote international development cooperation, planetary health, and sustainable development through mutual collaboration. Under this agreement, the two institutions agreed to pursue cooperation in the following areas:
▲ sharing successful project experiences and information in international development cooperation and planetary health;
▲ jointly identifying and implementing projects related to international development cooperation and planetary health;
▲ co-planning and operating capacity-building programs such as education, training courses, workshops, and seminars;
▲ expanding global collaboration through network and resource sharing; and
▲ cooperation on other matters mutually agreed upon.
Building on this partnership, the two institutions plan to link research, policy, and practice in the fields of international development cooperation and planetary health to develop a wide range of initiatives aimed at addressing global health and environmental challenges.
Through this agreement, the EGISE intends to strengthen its foundation for mutual cooperation and systematically advance initiatives to address global health and environmental issues by combining the expertise of both institutions. The Institute also seeks to expand diverse projects and programs based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to build a collaborative ecosystem in the field of planetary health that generates tangible synergies. In addition, in celebration of the 140th anniversary of Ewha Womans University and the first anniversary of the EGISE in 2026, the Institute plans to host the “2026 Planetary Health Forum,” which will serve as a platform to call for global action on planetary health.
Eunhee Ha, MD. Ph.D, Director of the EGISE, stated, “Building on Ewha’s accumulated research capacity in planetary health, practical experience from international development cooperation fields, and policy linkage capabilities, we aim to work with the Yonsei University Institute for Planetary Health to develop evidence-based solutions to address global health inequities.” She added, “In particular, through a collaborative model that develops practical solutions and validates them in real-world settings, we plan to jointly address the pressing planetary health challenges of our time.”
