Hye-Won Choi Professor
Hye-Won Choi is a professor of linguistics in the Department of English Language and Literature and currently serves as Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Ewha Womans University, Korea. She received her PhD in linguistics from Stanford University in 1996. She subsequently held positions as a lecturer at the University of California, Riverside, an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Southern California, and an assistant professor at the University at Buffalo (SUNY). She has also been a visiting scholar at Claremont McKenna College and Stanford University in the United States, as well as at Lingnan University in Hong Kong. She has been on the faculty at Ewha Womans University since 2002. Her research interests include syntax, corpus linguistics, discourse analysis, statistical modeling of linguistic variation, and digital humanities. She is currently engaged in research on AI and human language and directs the AI Digital Humanities Lab.
