Overview
The Graduate School of Translation and Interpretation (GSTI) was established on March 1, 1997, with the objective of training professional interpreters and translators to serve as pivotal players in international exchange within a world shaped by rapidly shifting global affairs, technological innovation, and sociocultural development.
Our faculty is comprised of Korea’s leading conference interpreters who have been highly active in numerous international events, and top professional translators who have translated a vast body of work, including works by Nobel Laureate Han Kang. Drawing on their extensive and practical experience and forward-looking vision, our faculty members share their expertise with their students, preparing them to become professionals capable of securing genuine understanding across languages, cultures, and nations. Our graduates have made noteworthy contributions in the fields of diplomacy, economy and culture.
Ewha GSTI is equipped with state-of-the-art simultaneous interpretation facilities that meet the rigorous standards of the International Association of Conference Interpreters (AIIC). We also provide access to the latest translation technologies, including Trados. Furthermore, through the Ewha Research Institute for Translation Studies (ERITS), we offer extensive and practical training opportunities, providing hands-on experience tailored to the evolving demands of the field.
