Students at Ewha add innovation in the healthcare industry with their digital branding ideas.

On December 13th (Wed), a presentation session of Jaranda and Ewha’s collaborative digital branding project took place at the ECC Theater. The presentation was a part of the projects for “Advertising Planning for Startup Branding” class in the Communication & Media Division (Division Chair: Seung-Chul Yoo). The students collaborated with Jaranda, an innovative startup selling hair growth products, and proposed creative strategies using generative AI technologies for digital marketing and brand content creation.

The final presentation session was attended by five finalist teams. Students from various countries – South Korea, the United States, Vietnam, and Indonesia – gave presentations in English. The jury (CEO Jang-uk Kim of Yi-eul Communications, Director Sinjae Lee of Doc’s Media, and Vice CEO Kyeongsu Song and Director Yeongjin Kim of Soul Live) selected the final winners: One team for the Grand Prize, one for the Top Excellence Prize, and three for the Excellence Prize. “The number of alopecia patients in their twenties and thirties are going up these days, and the students’ creative and future-oriented ideas gained attention from people in the healthcare industry,” explained Professor Seung-Chul Yoo (Media Engineering & Entrepreneurship Track), the organizer of this project.

“I think it is a great accomplishment for students to create marketing strategies that are accessible for both target customers and the general public, considering that alopecia and hair growth would not be their everyday-life thing,” said Director Yeongjin Kim of Soul Live. “The students’ proposals were all so professional and creative enough to get approval right away,” Director Kim commented. The Division of Communication & Media will collaborate with more startups in the healthcare and medical industry.
