‘디지털 시민 프로젝트 성과 공유회’ 개최

Our university opened the ‘Conference of Digital Citizen Project Results’ at the ECC Lee san bong hall on June 19th. Last December, our school cooperated with 22 companies and specialized institutions, like KT, to participate in the launching of the ‘Digital Citizen One-Team.’ It actively carried out the cooperation project for creating a safe digital ecosystem, such as inventing a digital citizen version of MBTI, DCTI(Digital Citizen Type Indicator).

This conference shared results of the last six months that the ‘Digital Citizen One-Team’ put out and reexamined goals of future projects. Considering the participating institutes’ technology and skills, the ‘Digital Citizen One-Team’ is separated into three categories, education, technology · research, damage support, for management. It constructs a cooperative system in order to solve various problems that occur in digital settings.

This event opened with University President Eunmi Kim’s welcome speech. She emphasized, “In the middle of the technical · social changes we face in the process of digital innovation, there needs to be a respect for humane values and dignity.” She also said, “The ‘Digital Citizen Project’ is an important cooperative network to make the base for digital citizenship. Through it, we hope to be able to cultivate genuine citizens of the digital generation who are aware of safety and coexistence, and social responsibility.”

Continuing on, various results of the education category were shared. Diverse examples of excellent educations for all ages were verified, including the ‘Personalized digital citizen curriculum and contents for young elementary schoolers’ made by Ewha, Seoul city, and Gyeonggi-do’s education office; cases of KT’s digital citizen supporters selection and cultivation; ‘Education video for parents of proper digital usage’ made by Severance Hospital and KT; ‘Visiting of digital citizen company lectures’ managed by Ewha’s Center for Future Education Research and KT.

Director Jaeyoung Jung of Ewha’s Center for Future Education Research introduced ‘DCTI(Digital Citizen Type Indicator)’ and especially got much attention. As the digital citizen version of MBTI, DCTI identifies each person’s preference of digital thinking · learning · activity and comes out with a digital citizen type. It is a diagnostic model that Ewha created. The ‘Digital Usage Skills Testing Model for Individuals’ will be additionally invented. This is so that a virtuous circle can be made for long-term digital citizen education and diagnosis, feedback, supplementing education.

Also in the damage support category, efforts for action against digital crimes through development of laws and policies were shared. And plans for a ‘Heart-raising class’ in order to provide psycho-therapeutic support for victims of digital side effects were presented. With this, the event ended successfully.
