The 2022 EWHA Communication & Media International Conference Successfully Completed

Ewha Womans University’s Communication and Media Research Institute (Director: Prof. Lim So-hye) held the 2022 EWHA Communication & Media International Conference (hereafter, the international conference) from November 9th to 11th, online and offline at the same time.
At the international conference, which was designed to look into the latest research trends in communication and media studies, establish networks with excellent overseas researchers, and lead academic discussions, researchers from around the world and graduate students from Ewha Womans University presented research on global media issues such as AI, metaverse, VR, and fake news.
The presentations by Professor Rene Weber from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Professor Peter J. Schulz from the University of Lugano in Switzerland, and Professor Edson Tandoc from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore were given, followed by the sessions by Professor Jorge Peña from the University of California, Davis, Professor Kim Hye-kyung from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, and Professor Jin Hyun-seung from the University of Queensland in Australia.
In particular, Ewha students actively participated in this conference. A total of 13 master's and doctorate students, including Ewha Womans University, Yonsei University, and the University of California, Santa Barbara, shared their research and communicated with world-class scholars. Ewha students also participated as audiences in the conference online and offline to expand the field of academic exchange.
