At the 13th Korea Moot Court Competition held by the Supreme Court, students from Ewha Law School achieved great results. Class of 12th year   Tae-young Mah, Ye-jin Cho, and Ah-young Chae(Class of ‘20) won the 4th place in the Cheong-yeon Award in the Criminal Law Sector, while Class of the 13th year Da-hyun Kim, Hee-jae Yang, and Hwi-hyun Joo (Class of ‘21) won the Excellence Award at finals in the Civil Law Sector.

Hosted by the Supreme Court, the Korea Moot Court Competition is becoming the most prestigious pleading contest in the country that law school students want to challenge the most, and is divided into the criminal law and civil sectors. In this 13th event, the number of participants increased from the last tournament, with 138 teams and 414 people from law schools across the country participating in the competitions. Among them, four of the 16 teams from each of the criminal and civil sectors could advance to the finals, and a competition was held focusing on oral arguments to determine the final winner. In the final round of the criminal sector, questions were given about the legal nature of virtual assets (Bitcoin, Altcoin) and whether arbitrary spending of transferred virtual assets is criminally punishable. Meanwhile, in the civil sector, questions such as "whether insurance companies can seek to recover insurance returns from medical institutions, where actual loss insurance reimbursements have been made voluntarily for a medical treatment not eligible for insurance reimbursement” were given. Among the participants of this school, the criminal team advanced to the finals and ranked fourth, and the civil law team won the Excellence Award for its excellent defense in the finals.

Ms. Ye-jin Cho who was a chief of the Civil Law team had mentioned that, “I would like to thank so much for the members who worked for the best teamwork ever. We had to study during the semester, and could not even rest during the vacation. We also appreciate and thank our professors who supported our dedication. We firmly believe that more Ewha students could challenge this competition in future.”
