Ewha Research Institute of Korean Culture(Director Dr. Hay-young Lee) has opened Korean Studies lecture course for foreign students, in collaboration with Liberal Arts College from Chulalongkorn University(CU). The online meeting course consisted of 5 lectures each about Korean Society and Culture, Korean Pop Music History and K-pop, Korean Fashion, Korean Food, and Korean House.

Recently, K-drama and K-pop are highly popular among Thai citizens. Yet, there were not enough opportunities to get through Korean society and culture in depth. Thus, Ewha RIKC planned this program in order to deliver deeper understandings of Korean culture for foreigners based on their long history and knowledge on Korean Studies.

This program has shown possibility to provide foreign students with high-level Korean Studies class, overcoming physical distance in this pandemic. “The program was planned to provide serious and deeper understandings with foreign students to search for Korean Society and Culture in various ways,” said Director Lee(Professor of Korean Studies from Graduate School of International Studies). She added that “I firmly wish participants could raise their understandings and attention of Korea in a better way.”
