<An academic club “E-NERGY” of the Department of Climate and Energy Systems Engineering, won the Encouragement Award at the “2020 Performance Report Meeting of Green Campus”>


The E-NERGY team, an academic club of the Department of Climate and Energy Systems Engineering, won the Encouragement Award and a prize of 500,000 won at the “2020 Performance Report Meeting of Green Campus,” held online on December 18, 2020. The Ministry of Environment and the K-Eco(Korea Environment Corporation) held a nationwide public contest for college students in June. The selected 31 academic clubs worked on various environmental events for three months.


An academic club “E-NERGY”(members: Yeonsu Kim, Youngeun Kim, Nayoung Seo, Eunji Ahn, Yebin Lee, Sohyun Jeong, Haeri Kim, Jisoo Yang, Soeun Yoon, Yewon Lee, Heeyeon Lee, Youjung Choi, Jeonghyun Huh, Jungin Hwang, Sol Yoo) had to carry out almost all of their activities via online due to the current pandemic. Despite the difficulties, they held online festivals that encouraged people to participate in. Also, working with other clubs and institutions, they organized a high-quality event such as "Green Energy Talk Concert" and panel discussions. As a result, they won the award as they contributed to raising green awareness among college students.


The members said, "We are happy and honored to receive the award. We worked hard and we will continue to take steps to preserve the environment.”



<Hyein Kim, Song-a Shin of the Department of Climate and Energy Systems Engineering, won the “Chairman Award” by KPX at the “Business Model Competition of Power Industry linked to AMI”>



Hyein Kim, Song-a Shin of the Department of Climate and Energy Systems Engineering won the “Chairman Award” by KPX at the “Business Model Competition of Power Industry linked to AMI”, which was held from November 6 (Friday) to December 11, 2020.


KPX(Korea Power Exchange) has hosted a competition to attract students' interest in power industry and provide opportunities to improve their capabilities. The winning teams were selected after three rounds of examination and review.


A total of 63 teams participated in this year’s competition, and eight teams were selected for the awards. Hyein Kim, Song-a Shin suggested a business model for electric vehicle charging. They suggested providing AMI(Advanced Metering Infrastructure) for EV charging facilities to mitigate renewable energy volatility in Jeju Island.
