The University’s Business Incubation Center (Director Jin-gyu Lee) decided to hold the 'Style Tech Startup Contest' as part of the campus town project in Seoul in 2020, and to commercialize the six selected startup teams. The 'Campus Town Project' is a project for universities and local governments to nurture young entrepreneurs around the commercial district near the school and to induce local win-win development. The University was selected as a new business university in December of last year, has been promoting the “Estilo Town Project, reviving with style and technological innovation”.

Our campus town called “Estilo” means ‘style’ in Spanish, and aims to foster a new industrial field that combines the technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution with style tech, that is, fashion, beauty, and lifestyle.

As a result of Ewha Womans University's Campus Town Project contest for start-up teams to cultivate and support Styletech startups, one team with the Grand Prize, two teams with Best Excellence award, and three teams with the Excellence award were selected.

“My own dressing table” (CEO Jae-Hyun Cho), which analyzes my dressing table through a smartphone and the cosmetics that fit me, “My Personal Shopper”, a platform for sharing middle and high-priced fashion items (CEO Seung-yeon Na/ Graduate in Korean Language and Literature), “Eatple” (CEO Jae-ho Jeong), a service that reduces the burden of delivery fees for store owners and consumers through Takeout and shared delivery, “Brader Jin” (CEO Geon-jun Lee), a designer clothing sponsorship rental service for fashion YouTubers/influencers, “Inerty”, a media content-oriented beauty commerce platform (CEO Yun-gyeong Jo/ Graduate in Food and Nutrition), and “Finger Snap” (CEO Ji-Hyeon Jeon), a platform service that connects overseas residents with companies in need of overseas shooting based on non-face-to-face short form content, were honored with the awards for start-up items in various style tech fields. (In order of awards)

The six selected teams will be provided with 10 million won (a total of 6 teams), independent office space, and a common space for meetings and community activities as well as the prize money. In addition, as it is related to the commercial district, each team will be funded to open offline stores where the teams can introduce and sell their services. Along with this, the University is planning to construct a local brand as a 'Style-Tech Landmark,' which combines items in the field of beauty, fashion, lifestyle and cutting-edge technology by conducting mentoring, networking and entrepreneurship training in the style-tech field.

Jin-gyu Lee, the director of Ewha Business Incubation Center, who is in charge of the Campus Town Project said, “The Campus Town Development Project establishes a support system for style-tech startups and serves as a platform to connect local business districts and young entrepreneurs. It is expected that “Estilo Town” (the commercial district near Ewha) will gradually develop through local win-win.”
