“Science Ewha” Ranks Top Tier for Environmental Science & Engineering and Nutritional Science & Food Management in Nationwide Evaluation
The 2013 Annual JoongAng Ilbo University Rankings has placed Ewha Womans University in the top tier of two academic fields in the science and engineering category: Environmental Science & Engineering, and Nutritional Science & Food Management.
Following in its tradition of pioneering new fields of science, Ewha has continued investing and forming collaborative partnerships towards a vision for “Science Ewha.” This year’s outstanding ranking in science and engineering is the latest in a series of achievements by Ewha, including the hosting of Solvay’s global R&D headquarters on campus, being selected for the Institute for Basic Science’s project to lead research in basic science, and undertaking leading initiatives in creative brain studies.
Recognized for its unrivaled competence in the study of climate change, a key environmental issue of the 21st century, the Department of Environmental Science & Engineering at Ewha has ranked in the top tier for three consecutive years. For its leading education and research capacity through the Department of Nutritional Science & Food Management, Ewha ranked 4th and 1st out of 58 universities in terms of the sum of intramural and extramural research grants received per faculty member, respectively.
Ewha also ranked high in the humanities and social sciences category for the fields of English Language & Literature, Sociology and Mathematics.
