From ‘YouTube EDU’ to ‘iTunes U’

The only university in Korea to provide lectures through both ‘iTunes U’ and ‘YouTube EDU’, the world’s two largest education content providers.

Ewha leads knowledge sharing under the vision to become ‘the global hub for women’s education’

Ewha shares cutting-edge lectures and educational contents with the world through Apple’s ‘iTunes U’, which provides the largest number of free education resources in the world. Beginning its service on Feb. 25th, Ewha is the first and only university to offer lectures on both ‘iTunes U’ and ‘YouTube EDU’, where it launched its brand site in August 2012.

Ewha has been a leader in establishing a new paradigm of university education as the only university providing the education service both through YouTube and iTunes U. As the first Korean university to participate in ‘iTunes U’. Ewha plans to share lectures and educational contents to users around the world.

Ewha’s involvement with iTunes U is an accomplishment of the ‘Virtual Ewha’ project’s efforts to expand the university’s education capacity and share its intellectual assets as ‘the global hub for women’s education’. Ewha plans to further increase global knowledge-sharing as it completes the open lecture service’s platform, the ‘Ewha Share Campus’, by May 2013.

‘Ewha Share Campus’ will provide eight courses consisting of 132 lectures and 24 special lectures, including those from the Global Online Campus and Ewha Academy. The lectures will span a variety of topics, including “Globalization and the South Korean Chaebol” by Prof. EunMee Kim (International Studies), “Are We Animals? : Animal Behavior and Human Nature” by Prof. JaeCheon Choi (Life Sciences), and “The Reality of Korean Religions and Culture” by Prof. JunSik Choi (Korean studies), among others.
