President Kim Sun-Uk Attends Annual Meetings of Board of Directors and North America Alumnae Association

President Kim Sun-Uk took part in the 43rd meeting of the Board of Directors of the International Foundation for Ewha Womans University(IFEWU), held in Vancouver, Canada on Saturday, November 3rd. IFEWU is a non-profit organization established in 1970 to further Ewha’s development through fundraising. Ewha supporters and alumnae and their families residing in the USA and Canada are invited to help Ewha through the organization.
In the plenary session of the IFEWU, President Kim highlighted Ewha’s achievements during the past year, along with Ewha’s various programs to strengthen learning, study, and global ability under the vision of becoming a 'The Global Hub For Women’s Education.' During the meeting, Sharon Z. Rader, President of the IFEWU, introduced a new fundraising campaign called the ‘$1,000,000-Worth-of-Funds-Project,’ for Ewha’s development. The project is a small-sum campaign aiming to raise $100 in donations from each alumna annually, and will create a development fund of $1,000,000 using the money collected over the next 5 years.
On top of that, President Kim attended the 11th plenary session and annual dinner of Ewha’s North America Alumnae Association on November 2-3. During the two day event, more than 300 alumnae had the opportunity to reunite and reaffirm Ewha’s strong network. Vancouver-based Ewha alumnae were able to raise $10,000 for Ewha’s development, with an additional $10,000 raised through ticket sales and auctions at the event.
