Joy of Christmas Shared at Ewha Christmas Service
Ewha held the first Christmas Service celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ on December 1st this year. 25,000 Ewha students and faculty members gathered in the Welch-Ryang auditorium and shared the joy and the gratefulness of Christmas.
Ewha Christmas Service, which is the first service held to celebrate Christmas in Korea every year, is hosted by Ewha Womans University and the Alumni Association and has become the 16th service held this year.
The orchestra and the choir of college dressed in red, green, and white, played and sang Christmas songs. After the performances, came the time for singing carols together. 35 students dressed in Santa Clause robes gave out presents to students and received a big cheer from the participants. Small presents were given out to everybody who came to the service. The offering gathered during the service is used to support Ewha alumni missionaries.
In addition to the service, there was an unveiling ceremony of 'Thanks 2011, Welcome 2012' at the Student Union Building on December 1st to celebrate the joy of Christmas and the upcoming new year. There was a celebrating performance of 'PYRUS', the cheerleading group of Ewha and a string trio from the college of music played christmas carols making a festive and jolly atmosphere in the lobby.
