Ewha-Peking University, the First Korean University to Conclude a Double Degree Agreement
The two universities also agreed to ▲ send out Peking University professors specializing in TeCSOL to Ewha each year, ▲ jointly develop an international Chinese education program, ▲ co-host international symposiums, etc. President Bae-Yong Lee recalled that “Ewha Womans University and Peking University share a long history of trust and friendship upon which they have conducted various academic exchanges, and that Ewha was the only Korean university to have its ‘Ewha Womans University Day’ celebrated at Peking University in 2007”. President Lee also added that “the agreement to offer a double degree on TeCSOL amidst a worldwide fervor for learning the Chinese language will contribute to the development of education not only in Korea and China but around the globe.”
| Ewha Womans University and Peking University (President Xu Zhihong) have joined hands for the first time worldwide for the distribution of TeCSOL. On November 13th, the newly established International Chinese Education department (TeCSOL) at Ewha’s Graduate School of Education agreed to jointly run a graduate degree program in ‘TeCSOL’ with the Overseas Chinese Language Institution of China’s Peking University – the world’s finest institution in TeCSOL. Ewha is also the first Korean university to conclude an agreement for a double degree program with Peking University. Students will complete four semesters at the Graduate School of Education and one semester at Peking University, receiving a graduate degree from both universities once they have fulfilled the necessary credits. |
