The Ewha English Department BK Project Team and the Ewha Institute of English and American Studies are holding an international conference under the theme “Transcultural Studies in the Pacific Era” on November 19th (Wed).
This conference is an attempt to acquire new perspectives on English and American literature and culture, focusing on the transcultural trend centered around the Pacific regions that clash and combine national, racial, and cultural boundaries through an academic interaction between American scholars and scholars from Asian countries, such as Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, and the Philippines. This also carries the significance of forming a local academic community in the approaching Pacific era.
