The 2026 Ewha Science Festival will feature a wide range of hands-on science programs exploring the fascinating world of science and technology.
Participants can experience interactive activities on the theme of light and nanomaterials, including "The Mysterious Nano World: Light and Magnetism," "Seeing the World Through Fluorescence," and "Hide-and-Seek with Light." The festival will also present engaging interdisciplinary programs focused on cancer research and treatment, such as "Superhero Chemistry: Defeat Cancer Cells!," "Treating Cancer with Jelly," "The Hidden Hero of Cancer Therapy: Radiation," and "The Secret Behind Cell Division."
In addition, visitors can enjoy hands-on activities that bring science into everyday life, including making keyrings using oxidation-reduction reactions, creating a DNA double helix through paper folding, and formulating cosmetic creams and lotions. These activities are designed to help participants better understand scientific principles in a fun and accessible way.
The festival also offers opportunities to explore a broad spectrum of scientific topics, ranging from the principles of LED light emission, atomic structure, the unique properties of "Weird Water," and cell biology to stress and immunity, epigenetics, and neuroscience research using fruit flies. Through these diverse programs, participants will gain a deeper appreciation of science and its role in everyday life.
The festival is open to middle and high school students, parents, teachers, and members of the general public. Admission is free, and on-site registration will be available on the day of the event. Exhibition booths and hands-on activities will be open from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and all participants will receive a Certificate of Participation.
