Yoonjung Choi Associate Professor

  Yoonjung Choi, Ph.D is an Assistant Professor of Social Studies Education in the Department of Social Studies in the College of Education at Ewha Womans University. She received her Ph. D. in Teaching of Social Studies from Teachers College, Columbia University in 2012. After serving as an Assistant of Education in the College of Education at the University of Maine at Farmington for two years, Dr. Choi came to Ewha in 2014. Her research interests include social studies curriculum and instruction, multicultural/global education, teacher education, and curriculum studies. She has been actively involved in professional organizations that include: National Council for the Social Studies, American Educational Research Association, and Korean-American Educational Researchers Associations.  She published a range of scholarly research articles in multiple international/domestic journals and co-authored books including A New Understanding of Multicultural Society (2009) and Research on Korean early-study-abroad youths’ adjustment: A multiple case study in the United States (2010).
