During the meeting, the recently launched “4th Comprehensive ODA Plan (2026–2030)” was introduced, followed by extensive discussions on the university’s role and strategic direction in response to it. In particular, a shared understanding was formed regarding ▲the linkage between ESG and SDGs ▲the expansion of interdisciplinary collaboration ▲the necessity of pursuing projects from a mid- to long-term perspective.
In addition, the importance of establishing a systematic support foundation at the university level and strengthening collaborative networks for the sustainable implementation of ODA projects was emphasized. It was also suggested that an integrated approach linking education, research, and social contribution is needed to enhance both the effectiveness and scalability of these projects. Director Ha Eun-hee of the Ewha Institute for Global Social Responsibility stated, “For ODA projects to be carried out sustainably, a systematic support foundation and strategic operational framework at the university level are essential,” adding, “Based on directions aligned with ESG and SDGs, it is necessary to continuously develop ODA strategies that reflect the unique values and strengths of Ewha Womans University.”
Building on this strategy meeting, Ewha Womans University plans to further specify its ODA directions and implementation strategies and to continue expanding its role in the field of global development cooperation.
