College of Pharmacy Earns Five-Year Accreditation in First Cycle of Pharmaceutical Education Evaluation
The College of Pharmacy (Dean: Hwa Jeong Lee) has been awarded five years of accreditation—the highest level available—in the first cycle of the 2025 Pharmaceutical Education Evaluation and Accreditation conducted by the Korean Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (KACPE).
Pharmaceutical Education Evaluation and Accreditation is a nationally recognized system based on the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act and the Higher Education Act that comprehensively assesses the overall quality of pharmaceutical education. The evaluation is conducted by KACPE, an accreditation body designated by the Ministry of Education. Beginning in 2025, only graduates (or prospective graduates) of accredited pharmacy colleges will be eligible to take the national pharmacist licensing examination.
This evaluation was rigorously carried out through document reviews and on-site visits, based on 50 criteria across the following eight areas: mission and educational goals, administration, curriculum, student body, faculty, educational environment and facilities, postgraduate education, and continuous improvement.
Ewha’s College of Pharmacy received high marks across all areas—including outcome-based curriculum management, practice-oriented education, faculty excellence and educational infrastructure, and comprehensive system for ongoing quality improvement—thereby earning the five-year accreditation.
