본교 재학생팀 ‘KDB STARTUP 2024, KDB 창업교육 프로그램’ 대상 수상

한국산업은행과 산은나눔재단이 주최하고 한국청년기업가정신재단에서 주관하는 ‘KDB STARTUP 2024’에서 본교 김하얀(국제사무학과·21학번), 김진슬(섬유예술전공·21학번), 김미화(융합콘텐츠학과·23학번)로 구성된 'N도르핀' 팀이 대상을 받았다.
KDB 창업교육 프로그램은 고객 발굴 중심 창업교육을 지원하여, 기업가정신 DNA를 함양한 미래 인재 양성 및 창업교육 문화 조성을 목표로 각 대학의 정규 창업교과목을 지원하는 사업이다. 2024년에는 본교를 포함해 16개 대학이 선정되었으며, 본교는 ‘스타트업캡스톤디자인’(담당 주창림 교수)의 정규교과목을 개설해 창업 전문 교육자를 중심으로 고객 발굴과 가설 검증을 진행하는 실무중심의 교육을 진행했다.
이번 KDB STARTUP 2024에서는 1차 예선전과 2차 본선을 통해 선정된 16개 대학 우수팀을 대상으로 발표를 진행했으며, 본교 N도르핀팀(팀장 김하얀, 팀원 김진슬, 김미화)은 화훼공판장에서 버려지는 화훼폐기물을 수거해 탈취 기능이 있는 친환경 강아지 배변 봉투를 제작하여 대상의 영예를 안았다. 대상을 수상한 N도르핀팀은 창업 장학금과 함께 정기적인 네트워킹, 지속적인 후속 지원으로 창업 역량을 한층 강화할 수 있는 기회를 얻게 됐다.
N도르핀팀은 창업지원단에서 운영하는 창업동아리ORDA 그리고 지속가능한 미래를 위해 혁신적인 솔루션을 개발하는 SEED팀으로 꾸준히 창업 활동에 참여했으며, 이화 아산나눔재단 기후테크 스타트업 미니 아이코어 프로그램에서는 대상을 수상했다. 실제 시장에서 고객들의 문제를 해결할 수 있는 비즈니스 모델을 위해 실제 시장에 적용해보고 전환하는 고객 검증을 성실히 수행하고 있는 팀이다.
본교 창업지원단은 창업가형 인재로 성장해나갈 학생들을 위해 다양한 창업 교육과정과 멘토링 프로그램, 창업 준비공간과 사업화 지원 등 창업 단계별 지원 프로그램을 통해 이화인의 창업역량을 강화할 수 있도록 전폭적으로 지원할 예정이다.
Ewha Student Team Wins Grand Prize at ‘KDB STARTUP 2024’

Ewha Womans University’s student team ‘N-dorphin,’ comprised of Kim Hayan (Department of International Office Administration, entered Ewha in 2021), Kim Jinseul (Fiber Arts, entered Ewha in 2021), and Kim Mihwa (Content Convergence, entered Ewha in 2023), won the Grand Prize at KDB STARTUP 2024. This program is hosted by the Korea Development Bank (KDB) and the KDB Foundation, and organized by the Korea Entrepreneurship Foundation (KoEF).
The KDB Entrepreneurship Education Program aims to cultivate future talents with an entrepreneurial spirit and foster a culture of entrepreneurship education by supporting entrepreneurship courses at universities that focus on discovering new customers. In 2024, 16 universities, including Ewha, were selected to participate, and Ewha launched a regular course called ‘Startup Capstone Design,’ led by Professor Joo Chang-rim, offering practical education focused on customer discovery and hypothesis testing under the guidance of entrepreneurship specialists.
At KDB STARTUP 2024, 16 teams were selected through preliminary and final rounds, and presented their innovative projects. The N-dorphin team from Ewha won the Grand Prize for developing eco-friendly dog waste bags with deodorizing properties, made from floral waste discarded at wholesale flower markets. Along with the Grand Prize, the team was awarded a startup scholarship and opportunities for regular networking and follow-up support to further enhance their entrepreneurial skills.
The team has actively participated in various entrepreneurship activities, including Ewha’s ORDA startup club and the SEED team, which focuses on innovative solutions for a sustainable future. The team also won the Grand Prize at the Ewha-Asan Foundation Climate Tech Startup Mini i-Corps Program. They have diligently conducted customer validation by applying and refining their business model in real market settings to address customer problems effectively.
Ewha’s Startup Support Center is committed to fostering entrepreneurial talent by providing comprehensive support through diverse entrepreneurship education programs, mentoring, startup preparation spaces, and commercialization support to ensure that students are ready to develop their entrepreneurial potential and grow into successful innovators.
