2014 Ewha-Harvard Summer School Program

The Graduate School of International Studies of Ewha Womans University and the Harvard Summer School will co-host the 2014 Ewha-Harvard Summer School Program. Professor Paul Chang of Harvard University and Professor David Chung of the University of Michigan will teach an undergraduate course on Korean cinema and documentary film-making, Cinema Korea: Documenting Korean Society through Film.

The course combines a critical and practical introduction to filmmaking, interweaving the close study of films about Korean society with basic training in the essential stages of film production. In an intensive five weeks we explore different ways that the cinema can engage major and influential social change in Korean society, both by studying and making films that creatively interpret the nation's past.

No experience for filmmaking is needed. AV equipment and editing software are provided. Male and female students are welcomed.
