The CNRS-Ewha International Research Center (CERC) is endowed by the National Research Foundation of Korea and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. The goal of the program is to recruit a world-wide renowned scientific research center to Korea and to develop a world-top class collaborative research program by establishing a joint international research center. We are honored that Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS, National Center of Scientific Research) of France is hosted as a research partner in the format of CERC in Korea. In particular, Institut de Physique et Chimie des Materiaux de Strasbourg (IPCMS, Institute of Physics and Chemistry of Materials at Strasbourg), one of the best research organizations in the field of physics and nanoscience, and Physics Department, Ewha Womans University, have established the CERC in Seoul.

Main research subject of the CERC is to explore scientific topics on "Quantum Dynamics Imaging: Optical Imaging, Spin Imaging and Their Applications". The CERC plans to create a new quantum science and technology as the key driving force for economic growth beyond the semiconductor- and display-based industries. Fueling an intensive scientific collaboration between IPCMS-CNRS and Ewha will promote the level of scientific research substantially through world-class research accomplishments. In the future, we look forward to bringing up CERC as a pivotal hub for the strategic partnership between Korea and France as well.
