Founded in 1968, the Department of International Office Administration has produced leading professional administrators for multinational and local companies and government offices, office professionals, financial specialists, university professors, and numerous professional women in the workforce. The alumnae from the Department of International Office Administration also have received significant recognition in such diverse fields as foreign languages, information management, business communication, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibition), and professional office administration. Notably, for nearly half a century, the Department of International Office Administration has been in the forefront of innovation and collaborative education for women—who remain working in major industries as office managers, human resource/public relations/marketing professionals, convention planners, and project managers.



The department moves to the new College of Science & Industry Convergence, and the Doctoral Program is established.


The department is renamed as International Office Administration.


The department is renamed as International Office Management.


The department moves to the College of Business Administration.


The Master's Degree in The Graduate School is launched.


The department moves to the College of Commerce and Economy.


Secretarial Science research is founded.


The Department of Secretarial Science in the College of Business is established.

The Aim of Education

The Department of International Office Administration not only aims to provide a distinguished education that combines innovation, creativity, and convergence—but also aims to build competence with professional expertise for authentic work purposes that require strong analytical and problem-solving skills in today’s fast and ever-changing global business environment. The major International Office Administration offers 5 concentrated tracks: Office Administration, Business Communication, Information/System Management, Convention and International Conference Management, and Human Resource Management.

The aims of the major are as follows:

  • Professional Competence and Work Ethics: To bring successful work performance.
  • Communicative Competence: To manage diversity in a global working environment.
  • Information Management Skills: To organize, manage, and secure important business information.
  • Project Management Skills: To effectively plan, organize, and manage diverse projects, events, conventions, and international conferences.
  • Professional Development for Women: To promote strategic-flexibility in various convergence service industries such as digital media, medical/health, sports, and fashion.
