The Department of Political Science and Diplomacy was established in 1950 as the first political science department for women in Korea. It has produced many leaders over the years in diverse fields, such as politics, government administrations, mass communications, education, and culture.

The department offers courses in political philosophy, comparative politics, Korean politics, and international relations, with great emphasis on cultivating rigorous and scientific thinking in understanding politics and social phenomena in general.

The Aim of Education
  • The Department of Political Science & Diplomacy focuses on the study of expert political science knowledge based on social scientific approaches. It offers all the basic political science courses such as political philosophy, comparative politics, international politics, and Korean politics.
  • Students majoring or minoring in political science & diplomacy often move on to domestic and foreign graduate schools, various research organizations, media outlets, middle and high schools, and advertising.
  • Even if they don't continue to on to areas where the knowledge of political sciences is utilized, students who completed the basic political science program can become leaders in society because they are better able to critically view and evaluate political affairs, one of the most important parts of human life.

  • Students majoring or minoring in political science & diplomacy often move on to domestic and foreign graduate schools, various research organizations, media outlets, middle and high schools, and advertising. Even if they don't continue to onto areas where the knowledge of political sciences is utilized, students who completed the basic political science program can become leaders in society because they are better able to critically view and evaluate political affairs, one of the most important parts of human life.
  • The department offers advanced education to help women actively participate in society, especially in politics. Through such education, it focuses on producing experts in fields such as regional studies, election, political parties, local governments, international organizations, and NGOs to meet the modern era's demand of globalization and women's advancement into society.
