Opening Ceremorny of Innovative Sweden
“Innovative Sweden,” an event that aims to show the country’s various innovations, is being held for the first time in Korea for 20 days from November 11th to 30th.


Ewha Womans University is co-hosting this event with the Embassy of Sweden in Korea and the Swedish Institute. “Innovative Sweden” is a traveling exhibition that started in 2011 at Stanford University in the U.S., and has moved to Brazil, China, Germany, and Japan, attracting a total number of over 40,000 attendees. Now it has arrived for the first time in Korea at the Ewha campus.


The exhibition introduces Sweden’s innovative technology such as IT, life science, and clean technology. It takes place at the ECC Multipurpose Hall along with an exhibition of contest-winning photographs. In addition, a product exhibition by the global home furnishing company IKEA is being held in the ECC Theater. The opening ceremony for the Swedish film festival that introduces seven recent Swedish movies will be held on November 21st at Art House MOMO located in the ECC.


Along with these cultural events, seven academic seminars will take place at various venues on the Ewha campus. There will be a variety of topics related to the advanced welfare nation of Sweden, including: relations between a creative economy and universities; the gender equality model; female entrepreneurship; design; small and medium-sized companies; IT technology; and smart cities.
