Professor Joong-Ki Park of the Department of EcoScience, elected as the 57th chairman of the KAOBS
Professor Joong-Ki Park of the Department of EcoScience was elected as the 57th chairman of the KAOBS (Korean Association of Biological Sciences) at its 75th Annual Conference held at Seoul Women's University from Oct. 22 (Thursday) to Oct. 23 (Friday).
Founded in 1945, the KAOBS is a comprehensive, representative academic organization in the Korean biological community, which consists of eight subgroups, including the Korean Society for Animal Classification, The Korean Society of Plant Taxonomists, ECOSK, Korean Society of Environmental Biology, The Genetics Society of Korea, and The Korean Society of Biology Education.
Professor Park, who will serve as chairman for one year from 2021, has been a member of the PACST, a policy advisor to the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and a chairman of the Korean Society for Animal Classification. In addition, he has published several top-notch academic papers in the field of EcoScience, and has been actively working as an editor of renowned SCI-level journals, including <Frontiers in Ecology & Evolution> and <Genes>.
