Professor Yoon Joo Young from the Department of Chemistry and Nano Science received the Shanghai International Science and Technology Cooperation Award on July 2.
Shanghai is actively promoting original innovation in advanced technologies, as well as international technology exchange and collaborative research. Established by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government as part of its initiative to build Shanghai into a global science and technology innovation center, the Shanghai International Science and Technology Cooperation Award is a prestigious honor presented to researchers who have made outstanding contributions to international scientific and technological cooperation.
Prof. Yoon was recognized for her world-leading research achievements in molecular fluorescent probes and tumor-selective phototherapeutic agents. She was also named among the world's top 1% researchers in her field every year from 2014 to 2024, demonstrating her sustained research excellence. In addition to her outstanding academic accomplishments, the award also recognizes her long-standing contributions to strengthening science and technology cooperation between Korea and China. In particular, she was acknowledged for expanding bilateral academic collaboration through joint research with East China University of Science and Technology. Prof. Yoon has previously received numerous prestigious honors, including the Korea Science Award, the Kyung-Ahm Academic Award, and the Toray Science and Technology Award.
