Ewha Womans University has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with D5, a global real-time rendering software company, becoming the first university in Korea to establish such a partnership.
The agreement, signed on April 22, 2026, aims to enhance the educational environment of Ewha's College of Art & Design (Dean: Kyungwon Moon) and College of Engineering (Dean: Seung-Young Song), while providing students with access to cutting-edge digital tools that foster creativity and professional-level skills.
The collaboration will initially focus on the Department of Spatial Design (Professor Jeeun Lee) and the Department of Architecture (Professor Hyungul Kook), with plans to gradually expand its scope to other disciplines across the university.
Under the agreement, D5 will provide educational licenses of its software free of charge for the duration of the partnership. Ewha will designate D5 as an official rendering and visualization tool for spatial design and architectural education, enabling students to produce high-quality, industry-level visualizations.

Beyond technical support, the partnership aims to evolve into a shared digital design platform that can be adopted across multiple disciplines, strengthening interdisciplinary education. Both parties will also collaborate on promoting outstanding student works and co-developing content to showcase educational outcomes.
This initiative integrates Ewha's academic expertise with D5's advanced technology to cultivate practice-oriented professionals capable of responding to the rapidly evolving digital design landscape. With its planned expansion into various fields, the partnership is expected to grow into an integrated industry-academic model that connects education, research, and content production.
