Professor Jung Jaehoon of Ewha Womans University Law School (Dean: Kim Daein) received the Red Stripes Order of Service Merit at the “25th Fair Trade Day” commemorative ceremony held on April 1 and hosted by the Korea Fair Trade Commission (Chairperson: Joo Byung-gi).
Professor Jung was honored in recognition of his contributions to establishing a fair competition order through his service as a non-standing commissioner of the Fair Trade Commission. At the ceremony, government awards were presented to 26 individuals, including Professor Jung, and three companies and organizations for their contributions to the development of the fair trade system, promotion of win-win cooperation, and the spread of a voluntary compliance culture.

Professor Jung is a legal expert who combines both theoretical and practical expertise in the field of fair trade. Prior to joining Ewha, he served from 2013 to 2016 on a division of the Seoul High Court specializing in fair trade cases. He has since held various key roles, including member of the Special Committee for the Comprehensive Reform of the Fair Trade Act; advisor on competition policy to the Fair Trade Commission; member of the Task Force on Innovation in Merger Control Legislation; and member of the Task Force on Strengthening Payment Stability in Subcontracting.
In addition, his paper titled “Interpretation, Standards of Judgment, and Limitations of the Offense of Obstruction of Investigation under the Fair Trade Act” received the Best Paper Award at the 5th Korean Bar Association Academic Awards in 2024.
