Ewha Womans University’s After-School Program Center has been selected for the “2026 Elementary School After-School Program Supply Project,” supported by the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity. Through this initiative, the Center is now actively delivering interdisciplinary programs to elementary schools across Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, and Gangwon.
This project is led by faculty members from the Graduate School of Education (Dean: Sangkeun Shin), in collaboration with professors from the College of Education and the College of Liberal Arts. Headed by Professor Hyojeong Kim of Art Education (Principal Investigator), the team includes Professor Suji Kim (Music Therapy Education), Professor Kyungah Han (Art Therapy Education), Professor Jihye Shin (Music Education), Professor Mihye Lee (Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language), Professor Jongwoo Jeong (Biology Education), Professor Jaehwan Lee (Philosophy), and Professor Binna Kang (K-Practical Music at Daekyeung University).
Under the vision of “Building a Hub for Interdisciplinary Culture and Arts-Based Therapeutic Education,” the 2026 project team has established a cooperative network with the Seoul and Gyeonggi Offices of Education as well as nine corporate partners. Since March, it has been offering a wide range of programs covering culture and the arts, school adaptation and emotional development, creativity and science, physical education, humanities and social studies, and climate and environmental education. A total of 85 professional instructors—including current students and alumni of Ewha’s Graduate School of Education—are participating to provide field-oriented instruction.

The project team has already demonstrated its excellence by successfully carrying out the “Neulbom School Program Development and Operation Project” since 2023. Building on this proven track record and strong program planning capabilities, it continued to implement customized Neulbom School programs for lower-grade elementary students in 2024 and 2025. Since 2025, the Center has firmly established itself as a major after-school program operator, receiving approximately 1 billion KRW in annual funding.
Ewha Womans University’s Graduate School of Education plans to further expand educational programs that connect schools and local communities, continuing to lead innovative educational models that support students’ growth and development.
