The College of Nursing atEwha Womans University(Dean Hyojung Park) held the 2026 Freshman Orientation for the College of Nursing on February 20 (Fri) at ECC Lee Sam-bong Hall. About 100 participants—including freshmen from the Class of 2026, the student council, and faculty members—attended the orientation to help new students adjust to university life.
Part 1 was hosted by Associate Dean Geonhui Kim and began with a hymn and Scripture reading, followed by a prayer by Hyewon Shin, Director of the Nursing Major. The program continued with a welcome address by Dean Hyojung Park, introductions of faculty members and clinical practice instructors, an overview of the history of the College of Nursing, and explanations of the college’s curriculum and learning outcomes. The session concluded with a congratulatory performance by PYRUS, the cheerleading squad ofEwha Womans University.
Dean Hyojung Park remarked, “I sincerely welcome all of you, our freshmen, who have become new members of the College of Nursing at Ewha Womans University, the first and foremost nursing education institution in Korea.” She added, “Within the deep history and tradition of Ewha Nursing, I hope you will approach your studies with an active and open mindset while cultivating both academic excellence and practical competence.” She also encouraged the students by saying, “Following in the footsteps of the many nursing leaders nurtured by Ewha, I hope you will grow into responsible nursing leaders who meet the needs of our time and society.”
Part 2 was held in Room 116 of Helen Hall and was organized by the College of Nursing Student Council ‘WeNurs,’ with Juhyun Baek, Co-President of the council, serving as the host. The program included introductions to the student council and student clubs, a tour of ENACTS (Ewha Nursing Advanced Clinical Training and Simulation), the College of Nursing’s simulation center, and recreational activities. Through these activities, freshmen had the opportunity to communicate with their peers and seniors, fostering a sense of belonging and pride in the College of Nursing atEwha Womans University.
