A Hybrid Event Featuring Campus Tours, Industry Leader Lectures, and Major-Specific Networking
The Graduate School of Clinical Biohealth at Ewha Womans University (Dean Kim Yang-ha) successfully held the “Online Degree Program Networking Day” on Tuesday, January 13, at Lee Sam-bong Hall in the Ewha Campus Complex (ECC). The event was designed to foster a sense of belonging among students enrolled in online degree programs and to build close networks with faculty members and industry professionals. A total of around 100 participants attended the event, including approximately 80 currently enrolled students of the Graduate School of Clinical Biohealth, about 10 faculty members, and three invited speakers from the biohealth industry. The event was conducted in a hybrid format, combining both on-site and online participation.
The program began at 4:30 p.m. with a campus tour highlighting the history of Ewha Womans University. Participating students visited major campus landmarks such as the Main Building, the Grand Auditorium, and the ECC, taking time to deepen their pride in their alma mater.
The main program (Part 1) opened with a welcome address by Dean Kim Yang-ha, followed by congratulatory remarks from Lee Hwa-jung, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, and Kwak Hye-seon, former Dean of the Graduate School of Clinical Biohealth. This was followed by a special lecture session featuring Park In-sook, Director of the Korea Regulatory Science Center; Park Ji-ye, CEO of Lotte Bixsum Bio; and Han Hye-won, Head Pharmacist of the Pharmacy Department at Asan Medical Center, Seoul. The speakers shared the latest trends in the biohealth industry and practical insights from the field. The lectures were livestreamed via Zoom, allowing students who were unable to attend in person to participate online in real time.
Part 2 of the event continued with a buffet dinner and major-specific networking sessions. Students were seated at tables organized by major—Bio-Convergence Regulatory Science and Clinical Pharmacy—where they engaged in in-depth discussions about academics and career paths with their academic advisors and peers. In addition, a prize drawing and recreational activities were held, bringing the event to a close in a warm and lively atmosphere. One participating student commented, “Because the program is online, there are limited opportunities to meet my classmates, which was disappointing. It was very meaningful to walk through the beautiful campus in person and receive vivid advice from professionals currently working in the field.”
