Ewha Global e-School of Ewha Womans University, in cooperation with the Korea Foundation (KF), carried out a program at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand from January 15 to 16 to expand academic exchange and revitalize local Korean Studies education. This event was organized to explore future development directions for the Global e-School in Thailand and to strengthen the practical foundation for the spread of Korean Studies through diverse exchange activities among educators and students. In addition, with both the Korea Foundation and Ewha Womans University participating together, the event became a meaningful opportunity to hear on-site feedback directly and discuss directions for educational support, thereby confirming the potential for the sustainable development of Korean Studies education in the future.

At the partner universities meeting held on Thursday, the 15th, professors in charge from Thailand’s participating e-School universities—Chulalongkorn University, Naresuan University, Rangsit University, and Silpakorn University—along with representatives from the Korea Foundation, were in attendance. Participants shared the operational status of each university and discussed areas for improvement and specific needs. They also reaffirmed that demand for Korean language and Korean Studies education in Thailand is rapidly increasing and explored ways to establish a stable operational system to respond to this trend. In particular, a wide range of opinions were exchanged on building a sustainable educational network, including the development of educational content reflecting local demand and the strengthening of inter-university cooperation. The discussion was further enriched by the Korea Foundation representatives listening directly to voices from the field and jointly considering realistic solutions.
