The Department of Communication and Media Studies held its 2025 Major Workshop at Ewha Womans University’s ECC Lee Sam-bong Hall on November 7 (Fri) from 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Having offered diverse lectures and track-based mentoring for more than ten years, the annual workshop provides students with broad learning experiences and opportunities for interaction between current students and alumnae. This year’s theme, “Korean Arts and Culture in the Global Era,” offered students an opportunity to connect academic knowledge with practical field experience within a rapidly changing global environment.

Hosted by Professor Choi SuBin, the event began with opening remarks by Department Chair An SunTae, followed by congratulatory remarks from Alumnae Association President Kwon MiKyung (CEO of Brandingin). Kwon donated twelve books to support current students, drawing an enthusiastic response. Faculty members in attendance were then introduced, and the department presented the educational directions of its six academic tracks: Journalism, Convergent Media, Visual Media, Media Management and Policy, Advertising and PR Strategic Communication, and Media Engineering and Entrepreneurship.

For the keynote address, The Quiett (CEO of Daytona Entertainment) delivered a talk on “Creation and Art in the Global Era,” sharing insights from his extensive professional experience. Drawing on his journey in shaping the popularization of hip-hop music, he discussed the role and mindset of artists in the global creative environment, capturing strong interest from students. The session was conducted in a conversational format moderated by Professor Song MyeongSeon, who oversaw the overall workshop, allowing for deeper discussion. 기조연설 세션에서 학생들과 질의응답 중인 더콰이엇(데이토나 엔터테인먼트 CEO)
