The MOU signing ceremony, held on October 23 (Thursday) in Room 256 of the Education Building B at Ewha Womans University, was organized by the Ewha Institute of Special Education (Director: Park Jiyeon) and the Department of Special Education (Chair: Lee Sookhyang) of the College of Education. The three institutions agreed to establish a cooperative system for inclusive and specialized education to support individuals with autism and foster their talents.
AUTISTAR Co., Ltd., the parent organization of A-Plus Research Institute, is a social enterprise that connects the artistic and design talents of individuals with autism to society. Designers with autism at AUTISTAR work as members of the design studio, engaging in a variety of design fields including painting, illustration, and product design. Their works are developed into lifestyle goods, fashion items, and stationery, which are then introduced to the public. Through these activities, AUTISTAR provides individuals with autism with opportunities for economic independence and takes the lead in promoting the values of diversity and coexistence throughout society.
Building on this agreement, the three institutions plan to collaboratively design and develop various programs to promote lifelong education for individuals with autism, as well as to conduct research on autism and program-related studies.
