On October 14 (Tuesday), Professor Kim Yuri was honored with the award at the “19th Nutrition Day Commemorative Expert Seminar” held at the Korean Dietetic Association in Seoul. The commendation recognized her contributions to promoting healthy eating practices through various initiatives, including improving national nutrition, spreading healthy dietary culture, and training professional nutrition management personnel.
“Nutrition Day” (October 14), was established by five academic societies—the Korean Dietetic Association, the Korean Nutrition Society, the Korean Society of Community Nutrition, the Korean Society of Food and Nutrition, and the Korean Society of Clinical Nutrition—to encourage the public to plan and maintain a healthy life through proper dietary habits. Professor Kim expressed her gratitude, saying, “I am deeply honored to receive this award. I will continue to work toward improving the nation’s nutritional status and promoting public health.”
Even since she joined Ewha Womans University in 2010, Professor Kim has published over 100 SCI-level papers and achieved remarkable research accomplishments. Her research focuses on elucidating the molecular biological mechanisms of nutrients in cancer prevention and chronic disease control, and she has recently expanded her academic scope to include studies on the sensory and physiological functions of taste receptors.
