‘2025 이화 창업탐색 해커톤’ 성료The “2025 Ewha Startup Exploration Hackathon,” a startup program hosted by the Ewha Womans University Campus Town Project Group (Directed by Jeong-Soo Park), successfully concluded after a two-day, one-night schedule. A “hackathon”—a compound word of “hacking” and “marathon”—is a startup event where participants rapidly develop and refine ideas within a limited time and turn them into valuable models.

This hackathon focused on discovering creative ideas from aspiring entrepreneurs and developing them into actual business models. The program was designed with the goal of fostering future talents who are capable of AI-based startup qualities A total of 22 teams of entrepreneurs applied, and 9 of them were selected to participate. In total, 49 individuals, including startup experts and related stakeholders, took part in the event.

On the first day, the program centered around practical startup lectures and mentoring sessions. Topics included a “Startup Practice Workshop” by a senior entrepreneur, “Growth Strategies for Startups” by an investment expert, and “Business Innovation Using GPT” by an AI specialist. Following the lectures, participants received intensive mentoring on refining their business models and improving their presentation skills. With feedback from experts, teams worked late into the night to develop their ideas further.

The second day involved presentations and evaluations based on the enhanced business models proposed on the first day. Through Q&A sessions with the judges, teams were able to demonstrate the feasibility and competitiveness of their ideas. Teams that participated in the final pitch session will receive support for their follow-up entrepreneurial activities and will also have the opportunity to participate in the “Ewha Startup Exploration Hackathon Competition” later this year, providing them with another chance for growth. The Campus Town Project Group plans to continue supporting these teams by connecting them with various resources and networks to help them become growth-oriented entrepreneurs.

Oh Jae-min, Secretary General of the Ewha Campus Town Project Group, stated, “We plan to continue running hands-on startup programs to identify and nurture promising early-stage entrepreneurs.” Sang-Joon Kim, Director of the Ewha Startup Support Group, also remarked, “This program goes beyond simple startup education—its significance lies in fostering integrated talent that combines AI technology with entrepreneurial capabilities. We will continue to identify and support future-oriented startup talents moving forward.”
