The Käte Hamburger Kolleg: Cultures of Research (c:o/re) invites applications for the fellowships for the 2026–2027 academic year (beginning in October 2026), open to scholars from the postdoctoral to senior level. Applications form female scholars and researchers from the Global South are especially encouraged.
Fellowships may last 6 to 12 months.
Fellowship Overview
c:o/re is an international center for advanced studies in the history, philosophy, and sociology of science and technology, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space. Applications are welcome from scholars in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, life sciences, and engineering.
For 2026/2027, the annual theme is:
“Varieties of Science”
Proposals may address:
- Comparative studies of research cultures across countries and institutional contexts
- - Methodologies for analyzing differences in scientific environments
- - Case studies examining specific national research systems and knowledge production
