Youngmi Lee Professor
Department of Chemistry & Nanoscience
Professor Young-Mi Lee is a director of Bio/Electroanalytical Chemistry laboratory at Ewha Womans University, Seoul, Korea. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin in 2001 and then worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. After that, she was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Chemistry department at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, USA, in 2004. Then she moved back to Korea, and joined the Department of Chemistry and Nano Science at Ewha Womans University, in 2007. Her research interests are in electrochemical approaches to the investigation of various unknown biological and energy conversion processes. In particular, her research is focused on the development of novel electrochemical micro-(nano-)sensors, and electrocatalysts for more efficient electrochemical reactions (for alternative energy sources such as fuel cells); and mechanism study of electrode reactions using scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM). She has published many papers in SCI top-ranked journals, including "Analytical Chemistry", one of the top journal in her research area.
