Youngjin Chung received her PhD in English from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and joined the Department of English Language and Literature in 2013. Her speciality is early modern British literature, with research interests that fall under the broad rubric of Renaissance poetry. Much of her work has focused on the dynamic interplay of literature and cultural discourses, primarily on the ways aesthetic form, genre, and poetics are shaped by their historical contexts. Her current research focuses on early modern writings and the material and social contexts of their production and reception, print culture and technology.
