Youngjeen Cho Professor

Department of International Studies

Youngjeen Cho joined Ewha Womans University in 2008. Prior to her appointment at Ewha, she served for three years at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Korea, where she focused on WTO Rules negotiations.

She holds an LL.M. and S.J.D. from Harvard Law School, as well as an LL.B. from Seoul National University. Specializing in international trade law, her primary research areas include trade remedy measures, multilateral trade negotiations, and dispute settlement within the WTO framework. Her recent publications address topics such as anti-dumping measures, countervailing measures, and the intersection of trade and the environment.

Professor Cho is the vice president of both the Korean Society of International Economic Law and the Korean Society of Trade Remedies. She served as a commissioner of the Korea Trade Commission from 2021 to 2023, and is an active member of several advisory committees, including those for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
