Yuncheol Kang is an assistant professor in Ewha School of Business at Ewha Womans University. He previously served as an associate dean of Graduate School of Data Science (2022-24). He is also affiliated to a joint program of Big Data Analytics in the graduate school of Ewha Womans University. He was an assistant professor in Industrial Engineering at Hongik University, Seoul, South Korea from 3/2016 to 2/2020. In 2014, he earned a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, where he also served as a postdoctoral research associate. He earned an M.S. in Industrial Engineering in 2004 from the Seoul National University. Between his M.S. and Ph.D. studies, he was a system designer at LG CNS, South Korea. He received a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from KAIST in 2002. His research interests include 1) decision-making theory and its applications, with an emphasis on sequential decision making on planning and scheduling problems in various manufacturing/service applications, and 2) business analytics and AI in industrial applications.
