Professor Jihye Kim of ceramic arts at Collage of Arts and Design, Ewha Womans University, earned her B.F.A. and M.F.A degrees for ceramic arts at Ewha Womans University. She obtained her second M.F.A. degree for ceramic arts at Kent State University in Ohio. After finishing the art history, theory and criticism program at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a graduate certificate, she received her Ph.D. from studies in visual arts for her research on feminism and tactility. She is currently working on a research on Luce Irigaray, a feminist theorist, while engaging in her ceramic installations. She teaches ceramic sculpture and theory on contemporary ceramics as she serves as the chair of the Department of Ceramic Arts.
