2017 Ewha Summer Project for Strengthening the Global Capacity Ended in Great Success

A variety of Faculty-led Study Abroad Programs, which strengthen the global capacity and allows students to experience a broader world, ended in great success. Approximately 150 enrolled students participated in the programs. Students had a meaningful summer vacation, engaging in collaborative classes or field exercises along with great scholars in universities or institutions around the world including Asia, the U.S., and Europe.

Through 2017 Faculty-led Study Abroad Program under the specialization initiative of universities in the metropolitan area, 40 students in three groups conducted cultural exchanges, field exercises and research trips under the supervision of faculty. Also 95 students in six groups, sponsored by Ewha, had a meaningful time to strengthen the global capability and experience a broader world. There was also 2017 Get Global Ewha Program funded by the Advancement of College Education (ACE) program of Ministry of Education. A participating student said, “It was a valuable experience which enabled me to see what I had learned only by book in person.” Another added, “I met and talked with alumnae as well as various leaders working there and they gave me hearty advice on career development.”

In order to foster talents as global leaders, Ewha has organized Faculty-led Study Abroad Vacation Program each year since 2008 and financially supported supervising faculty and participant students. Since credit is approved by the school if students take applicable courses during a summer/winter session or in the form of transfer credit, this program is popular with students.
