Ewha Holds Special Lecture by Chinese Writer Yu Hua

The Center for Chinese Cultural Studies hosted a special lecture by Chinese writer Yu Hua, who is well known for his novel Chronicle of a Blood Merchant, on Wednesday, May 24.

Ewha Womans University is the only university that the writer visited during his trip to Korea. Under the theme of “How does literature affect our lives(文学给予生活什么)?” Yu exchanged opinions on the value and influence of literature with Ewha students, faculty, staff, and about 200 audience members.

Since its foundation in 2008, the Center for Chinese Cultural Studies has played a pivotal role in promoting academic exchanges with China and taken the lead in research on China in Korea by establishing Chinese Studies in a Korean perspective. The Center for Chinese Cultural Studies is focusing on gathering information for Chinese Studies, increasing academic exchanges between two countries, hosting academic conferences and publishing book series.
