Niagalé Bagayoko-Penone Visits Ewha Womans University

Niagalé Bagayoko-Penone, wife of French Ambassador to Korea Fabien Penone, visited Ewha Womans University on May 9, 2016.

In an audience with Mrs. Penone at the office of the president at 3 in the afternoon, President Choi Kyunghee gave a warm welcome to Penone, expressing her profound gratitude for full cooperation of the French Embassy to Korea when the French Council for University Education and French President François Hollande visited Ewha in October and November 2015, respectively. “Ewha Womans University is also well known in France as an excellent women’s educational institution with a long history and tradition,” said Penone, and she hoped further mutual exchanges between Ewha and French universities to nurture future women leaders and women talents.

After the confabulation, Mrs. Penone delivered a lecture on ‘Hybrid Security Governance in Africa’ at LG Convention Hall. As a doctor’s degree holder in International Politics, Penone lectured on the security issue and governance status in Africa, an emerging development region, enhancing audience understanding of Africa.

Ewha Womans University holds exchange agreements with 35 French institutions, and as a result, 65 French students are taking their courses at Ewha and 38 Ewha students are studying at French universities.
