EGPP’s 10th Anniversary Commemoration

On May 2nd (Monday) at 11:00 AM, “Ewha Global Partnership Program’s 10th Anniversary Commemoration” was held at ECC Lee Sam-bong Hall by Office of Global Affairs.

The Ewha Global Partnership Program (EGPP) is Korea’s first full scholarship program for female talents from overseas developing countries. Along with the Ewha Global Empowerment Program (EGEP) and Ewha-KOICA Master’s Program, the EGPP is one of the global education programs for nurturing female talents, through which Ewha was enabled to fulfill its social responsibility and contribute its accumulated educational capacity to the well-being of women in the world.

This commemoration event was held to celebrate its 10th anniversary. For the past 10 years, the EGPP has accepted 206 students from 39 countries and produced 114 graduates from 25 countries. In addition, Ewha has been doing its best for the scholarship students to adjust to their life in Korea by operating a support program for their living and studies with mentoring, meetings, and culture events. In particular, 28% of the students have achieved high academic performances with a GPA of over 4.0, and they have reportedly played key roles as female leaders in a variety of fields including governments, universities, the UN, and refugee zones.

In preparation for the EGPP’s 20th anniversary to come, Office of Global Affairs will strive to enhance the EGPP by coming up with a range of plans for: the establishment of a student recommendation program; the improved student selection process to secure outstanding students; the advanced environment of academic affairs and standards of living; the development of a program for enrolled students; and the organization of regional networks for alumni.
