Gifted Education Center
The Ewha Institute for Gifted Education was established in 2010 with the goal of providing well-designed, quality education to gifted children and ensuring that they discover their true talents and continue to develop their potential. The institute is affiliated with the College of Education of Ewha University. Together, they made a joint agreement with the Seodaemun-gu Office, a district office in Seoul, which runs the Ewha-Seodaemun Center for Gifted Education (ESCGE). The institute recruits and provides education to academically gifted and talented students (Grades 5-8) residing in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul.
The center offers students a subject-integrated learning approach which emphasizes problem-solving and inquiry-based approaches that are typically not taught in classrooms. The programs lead students to experience intellectually challenging classes and improve their problem-solving skills in creative and innovative ways. Along with their academic development, the programs also encourage students to cultivate upstanding characters and grow to be future leaders.
