Professor Chae-won Lee at the Content Convergence Department won the Excellent Paper Prize at the 2023 Fall Meeting of the Korean Association for Communication and Information Studies (KACIS) on November 25th (Sat).
The KACIS annually selects an excellent paper published in the Korean Journal of Communication & Information that contributed to the development of communication and media studies and gives the prize for that paper.
A Study on the Changes of Long-Term Discussions on Science and Technology Innovation Focused on Daily Newspaper Editorials from 1967 to 2022, the Excellent Paper of this year, analyzes how the discussion on science and technology innovation has changed over generations from 1967, the year when the Ministry of Science and Technology was established, to the present, expands the understanding on how science and technology innovation has become a part of the society, and suggests the political implications of the innovation.
Professor Chae-won Lee majored in mass communication and media at Ewha Womans University and earned her doctorate at Korea University in Science & Technology Studies. She now provides lectures on media, technology, and society to students at Ewha Womans University. She also works on research on various subjects, such as science technologies from a sociocultural perspective, controversy and communication on health concerns and risks.
